One of the 'Great Old Ones'.

Created in 1931 by Frank Frank Belknap Long, who was one of the "Lovecraft Circle". A bunch of writers who kept using each other's creatures and concepts as well as adding to them. The loosely connected horror stories that resulted became the (sort of) shared universe now known as the 'Cthulhu Mythos'.

And he sorta looks like an elephant!

Oh and before some of you point it out: no her gun is not going to help much is it? But if you see that coming for you, and you happen to carry a gun...you're gonna shoot it! I assume their next plan is 'run like @$&^@'...
