Jean Grey as Phoenix - Commission

Someone commissioned a Jean Grey in the earliest stage of her Phoenix-phase. Which was kind of cool because I'd planned to paint her for a while but I never quite got round to it.

I always felt the simple elegance of her outfit made it one of the better Marvel designs. (Especially from the 70's hehe. )

And of course the start of that whole Phoenix thing. I lost track a bit of how it went. At first it was her, then later it hadn't been her, then yet later she got the memories of the Phoenix that thought it was her for a time...and then...pfff... Bit of a mess that came out of a classic story.
